Srinagar, Dec 28 (KNO): The transporters of Kashmir Valley on Saturday expressed their anger towards the authorities, saying that the Parimpora Bus Stop for vehicles was not cleaned, resulting in transport buses being off the Srinagar-Baramulla and other main roads.
Speaking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Shabir Mata, President of the Transport Association Kashmir, said the snowfall in the valley has affected normal life, with Srinagar’s transport bus stop also being affected and transport buses remaining off the roads.
He said the transport buses connect Srinagar City with major areas like Bandipora, Baramulla, Sopore, Kupwara, and others, and bus travel on those routes was also affected. He added that the authorities forgot there was a bus stand and didn’t even hesitate to clear the snow.
He mentioned that no one has visited the Parimpora Bus Stand, and due to the snow not being cleared, they couldn’t move the vehicles, thus they remained off the roads. He called upon the authorities to kindly clear the snow tomorrow morning so the buses can operate and the commute for locals can be easier.
Meanwhile, when contacted, SMC officials told KNO that the Parimpora Bus Stop falls under the jurisdiction of SDA.
However, despite repeated attempts, the SDA officials could not be contacted for the comments—(KNO)
